RadCast Outdoors Podcast Episode #46: Pike Slam, Multi-Continent Fishing with World Class Fisherman, Danny Kurttila
Danny Kurttila with a Silver Muskie
Danny Kurttila joins Patrick and David to talk about his journey to 3 continents to fish for and catch all the pike species and sub-species. Danny was diagnosed with stage 4 bone cancer back in 2015, but that didn't stop him from pushing himself and going to Russia, Italy and France to finish his pike slam. Danny is an expert angler for many species and has caught just about everything that swims in fresh water. He is known locally for his big tiger muskies, trout, walleye, sauger, bass and pike. Despite his cancer, Danny can often be found trying to catch master angler sized trout, walleye, sauger, pike or tiger muskie somewhere in Wyoming.
Danny has accomplished a lot in his fishing career. Some of his notable accomplishments include:
- 45 Line Class World Records
- State Records
- Almost 800 muskies (combo of purebred and hybrid)
- 1st Person to complete the IGFA Bass Slam
- 1st Person to complete the IGFA Trout Slam
- 1st Person to complete the Wyoming Game and Fish Ultimate Angler
